The Best Energy Drink

The world of energy drinks has boomed into a multi-billion dollar global market.  With this it makes finding the best overall energy drink in terms of quality ingredients, an affordable price, and amazing flavoring a tough choice.  Let’s start with the runners up which are quality products but just got edged out slightly by the overall winner.

Runner Up

C4 Energy Drink

Cellucor, the makers of the market dominating C4 pre-workout expanded into the energy drink market and took some of the best attributes from their pre-workout and carried it into their energy drinks.  If you’ve ever used a C4 product you know how Cellucor nails the flavor profile in being able to provide a great tasting product and it’s no different with their energy drinks.  The C4 energy drink comes in multiple variations all with unique benefits depending on how the consumer anticipates using the product.  Whether in place of a pre-workout supplement or using it to help focus through a mind intensive work or school day this brand has you covered.  The standard C4 Energy drink is more focused as an overall replacement for pre-workout.  It contains ingredients similarly found in their pre-workout products such as L-citrulline to help increase nitric oxide levels, beta-alanine to help with power output, and betaine to help with hydration.*  Their Smart Energy line is more focused for mental cognition and is aimed more for assisting with an intense work or school day.  This variation contains caffeine derived from green tea and includes ingredients like cognizin citicoline and N-acetyl L-tyrosine to boost your mood and mental focus.*  The standard C4 energy drinks currently come in 10 flavor options while the Smart line comes in 8 flavors.  Both varieties have 200 mg of caffeine in a 16 ounce can with zero sugar and zero calories.  All of the flavors we tried had a solid flavor profile with the exception of the Icy Blue Razz Smart Energy flavor which we feel was off compared to the other flavors.  Overall either option from the C4 energy drink line delivers a great tasting product, built with quality ingredients, with zero calories, and is offered at an affordable price making it a clear choice for our runner up award for best energy drink.

And the Winner Is….

Raze Energy Drink

Raze energy comes to the table with it’s FRESH blend of ingredients covering Focus, Recover, Energy, Stamina, and Hydration.  The primary ingredients to note are the Alpha GPC to aid in mental focus, BCAAs to aid with recovery, and electrolytes to help with rehydration which can often be an issue when consuming highly caffeinated products like energy drinks.  Raze is zero calories, zero sugar, and contains 200 mg of caffeine in a 16 ounce can.  They offer 11 flavors ranging from galaxy burst (pink Starburst), Apollo (red, white, and blue popsicle), guava mango, sour gummy worms, voodoo (orange soda), strawberry colada, grape bubblegum, phantom freeze (white monster), south beach (tropical), baja lime, and watermelon frost.  Raze offers a great taste with a nice energy blend that feels balanced without leaving you feeling overly jittery.  The main difference between Raze energy drinks is their “crowd sourced” approach where they use social media to let the fans decide new flavor options, can designs, and other product choices.  Overall Raze energy provided the best flavor profiles, an affordable price, made from solid ingredients, with zero calories making it just nudge out the runner up.

Either way you go, both of these brands offer great products in the energy drink market and we’d recommend either option to anyone looking to try something new.
